Training Standards

Please read the following information carefully before submitting your application to Spiritual Touch® Training (STT®). It is important that you fully understand the high standards of this training to which you are applying and the ethical behavior that is required of you as a healer.

The STT® program requires a serious commitment on the part of the participants to loving self-responsibility. Participants of this training are asked to conduct their personal lives in and out of the workshops with a high degree of personal integrity. Healership requires adherence to the highest standards of personal excellence. It is essential to live what we profess. To maintain Love, Truth and Wisdom throughout the program, a code of ethics is set not only for the instructors, but also for participants.

All participants in Spiritual Touch® Training are asked to adhere to the following standards of behavior:

1. An acceptance of the idea that you create your own experience of reality and that you are responsible for it.

2. An awareness that you are sharing an existence with others who are experiencing their journeys in their own ways.

3. A commitment to participate with others, in all interactions, in a way that contributes to their well-being.

4. A commitment to use psychic energy only in ways which will contribute to the health and well-being of others, will be of service to humanity and the healing of the planet and will not be for negative intent. The participant agrees not to misuse psychic energy: that is, to use psychic energy to gain power over others by means such as magic, curses, hexes and negative ceremonies and rituals.

5. A commitment to obey the federal, state and local laws of the country in which you are living or visiting.

6. An agreement to take no drugs at any time during your participation in this program unless as prescribed by a physician for a particular physical illness.

7. An agreement to drink no alcohol during workshops days.

8. An agreement not to misrepresent your personal history on the Confidential Participant Profile statement or any information on any STT® document.

9. An agreement to maintain confidentiality with respect to other participants and instructors of STT® and all clients. (Please see attached discussion about confidentiality)

10. An agreement to keep your financial commitment to STT®.

11. An agreement to be in your seat, prepared to start STT® at the scheduled time.

12. An agreement to hand in all completed homework assignments on time.

13. An agreement to immediately advise instructor of any changes in your physical or mental well-being.

We reserve the right to dismiss any participant, at our sole discretion, if the student fails to abide by the above Program Standards, or when such action is deemed to be in the best interest of STT® or its participants.


Additional Requirements

Not Included in the tuition It is required that each participant of STT® have two private sessions with an approved healer or therapist between each workshop, as well as participation in an ongoing process group that meets with Melinda every other week. If Spiritual Touch® Training determines that the participant needs more personal support it can require, at any time throughout the program, that the participant have body/psychotherapy sessions by a practitioner approved by STT®, in order to remain a participant in the program.

When you sign up for Spiritual Touch® Training you are committing to 1 year of training, six intensive weekends, with the tuition amount due of $3000..00 plus a $50.00 administration cost bringing the total to $3050.00. This tuition is to be paid in full whether or not you complete the year's training or continue to be an active participant in the training program. All workshops must be attended to go on to the next year. This training is taught sequentially, each weekend workshop is a foundation for the next. It is essential you do not miss anything as it will not be repeated. If you miss a weekend you can continue with the year's training as you are still required to pay the full tuition this year, however you will still need to repeat the year at new tuition price. Melinda may be available for private tutoring on a weekday for a missed weekend for an additional charge, but this is not guaranteed. This commitment is the biggest worry for any of the students but no one has ever missed a class. Once the inner commitment is made dates seem to align themselves! Also required; to enter into the third year, is completion and passing of a college level Anatomy and Physiology course. Melinda Anderson teaches this 12 week course in an audio tape series with weekly testing. Occasionally, if there are enough students, she teaches this course live. In Melinda's course you will receive location and disease information as well as Spiritual Touch® "Healer's Perspective"; learning about the energetics of different diseases.

Trademark Agreement

An agreement not to use the name Spiritual Touch®, Spiritual Touch® Training, or STT® and not hold myself out as an agent, representative or graduate, or to charge professional fees, until after I have succeeded in completing the 4 years training, pass, and receive my graduating diploma. Passing each year requires mastering the technical skills, practicum homework, personal process and passing written quizzes and exams.

Upon graduation I agree not to teach this work under the name Spiritual Touch® Training, however I may use the Spiritual Touch® logo and name to advertise my healing practice.

Confidentiality Statement

It will be useful for you to discuss your client cases with your supervisor or within Supervision Group within the workshops. However it is not usually necessary or constructive to talk about people. What is valuable is talking about your experience, not telling stories about others. It is important that we always look at our own intention when we discuss others. Ask yourself, "Why am I saying this about this person? Does my talking about them contribute to their and my own well-being?"

Within the workshops and with clients, the more the participants and their actions are held confidential, the safer they feel to fully express their personal process and the parts of themselves they have been reluctant to reveal. We encourage participants to practice a high level of confidentiality now so they are fully prepared to create a safe, secure environment for their own clients when they begin their healing practices.

Please observe the following standards of confidentiality. In order to establish an environment in which participants can safely explore their personal process, a high level of confidentiality must be maintained throughout the Spiritual Touch® Training program.

1. During workshops don't talk about other people and their process. If you wish, share your personal experience, but you must be very careful not to bring gossip into your sharing. This means not talking about other participants, their process, what they said or what they did. If it serves no purpose in your learning or in another's process, then it should not be talked about. Please do not talk about other people. Give them the freedom to fully experience their own process without outside comment, judgment or intervention.

2. Nothing of a personal nature about a participant shared within the workshop should ever be talked about outside. The names of all participants are confidential as are their words and actions. Of course you can talk about the types of things that are learned. We encourage you to talk about the things you study and do in the learning process. You can cover the full spectrum of activities, but be sure not to compromise anyone's privacy.

3. Be careful about misrepresenting the work to those outside of the training. Many people do not understand how and what we study and can be threatened, confused or fearful about our work. Be sure that you are communicating with them in a way that contributes to their own sense of well-being and also honors the healing profession.

4. Mailing lists are also confidential. Please do not use mailing lists of the participants to create networks. If you wish to make mailing lists of your own, write the purpose of the mailing list including exactly what the names will be used for and ask people to personally sign it.

5. The complete confidentiality of private healings, private supervision and private group supervision given outside of the workshops will be honored by practitioners who also instruct at STT®.


Consent Form

I have read, understood and agree to the Training Standards, Confidentiality, Additional Requirements and Trademark Agreement and as outlined on those pages.

I have been informed that the general nature of the Training and the techniques used therein are designed to provide training in the art of Spiritual Touch®, an art of hands-on healing and will present situations that may be physically or emotionally stressful at various stages of the program.

You have informed me that the Training is designed for normal, healthy people and that a person who, as a result of a physical, mental or emotional disorder, is unable or unwilling to explore emotionally stressful situations should not enroll in the Training.

I represent to you that I am not now, nor have I been hospitalized for a mental or emotional disorder within the past 5 years. I am not currently taking psychotropic drugs, seizure disorder drugs or prescribed sedatives and have not taken psychotropic drugs, seizure disorder or prescribed sedatives within the past 2 years. I understand that this prohibition shall apply to the time period commencing with this application through my participation in the Training. I further represent that I am physically and mentally healthy, that I have no knowledge or reason to believe I am emotionally unstable, and that I will consult my own physician or other health professional if there is any question in my mind about my physical or emotional ability to participate in the Training.

If at any time I feel that I am unwilling or unable to engage in any exercise or aspect of the Training, or if I experience any unwanted symptoms or unusual discomfort or stress, I agree to inform the person leading the program at once.

I hereby assume for myself, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, all risk of physical and emotional injury which may occur during or after the Training. I agree to release and hold Melinda Anderson, Spiritual Touch, and Spiritual Touch® Training, it's employees and agents harmless from any liability, loss, cost or damage arising out of my participation in the Training.
